Subhas Chandra Bose’s grandnephew urges I&B Minister to take action against Prabhas’ Fauzi teaser: “Trivialisation of Netaji”
Prabhas’ upcoming film Fauzi has come under criticism over its teaser, with Subhas Chandra Bose’s grandnephew, Chandra Kumar Bose, urging the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to investigate the matter and take strict action against those responsible.

Chandra Kumar Bose, a socio-political activist and former BJP vice-president in West Bengal, has objected to the teaser for allegedly distorting historical events and trivialising Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s legacy. He has called for the promotional video to be taken down, corrected and released again.
On Tuesday, October 27, Chandra Kumar Bose shared a letter addressed to Vaishnaw on X. He also tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and appealed to Fauzi director Hanu Raghavapudi to understand the seriousness of the issue.
Why has Fauzi’s teaser drawn criticism?
The teaser, titled File No. 25, was released on October 23, coinciding with Prabhas’ 47th birthday. Set in Berlin in 1942, the video offers a glimpse of the actor’s character and depicts Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose approaching Adolf Hitler for support in India’s struggle against British rule.
Expressing his objection to the content, Chandra Kumar Bose wrote, “We take strong offence to this trivialisation of Netaji. We also fail to understand as to how could the Censor Board clear such an objectionable content. You are requested to kindly look into this very serious concern and get it investigated. It shall be the right service to the nation if you make sure that this teaser is pulled down and the responsible ones at the Censor Board are punished in an exemplary manner.”
The teaser of Fauzi ought to be pulled down, corrected and released again. Should our concern regarding Netaji be resolved (for the teaser as well as for the Movie), my best wishes go out for #Prabhas and the entire team @FauziTheMovie . Hope @hanurpudi realises the seriousness @narendramodi @AshwiniVaishnaw @SuparnoSatpathy

Chandra Kumar Bose urges makers to correct the teaser
In a separate post on X, Chandra Kumar Bose called for the teaser to be withdrawn and released again after the alleged issues were addressed. “The teaser of Fauzi ought to be pulled down, corrected and released again. Should our concern regarding Netaji be resolved (for the teaser as well as for the Movie), my best wishes go out for #Prabhas and the entire team @FauziTheMovie. Hope @hanurpudi realises the seriousness,” he wrote.
Fauzi stars Prabhas in the lead role and is directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. The teaser, released under the title File No. 25, introduces a story set against the backdrop of the Indian freedom struggle and features a depiction of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in 1942 Berlin.
