OpenAI Hiring In India: The popular GenAI ChatGPT-maker, OpenAI is expanding its global presence by opening its first office in India. The announcement came last week, reflecting the growing demand and investment in GenAI across the world. The inception of ChatGPT in 2022 has set off an age of AI, with the explosion of related technologies and applications.
OpenAI is now on the lookout to hire human talent for its new office in India.
Currently, OpenAI has listed three job openings in India, all in sales:
–Account Director, Digital Natives
–Account Director, Large Enterprise
–Account Director, Strategics
These roles can be based in Delhi, Mumbai, or Bengaluru.
These three roles have different job requirements and eligibility criteria. Interested candidates can visit OpenAI’s careers page, find the role they want, and click on “Apply Now.”
“Opening our first office and building a local team is an important first step in our commitment to make advanced AI more accessible across the country and to build AI for India, and with India,” OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said in the statement.
CEO Sam Altman said he was “excited to visit India in September” and noted that the company was “especially focused on bringing its product to the country”.
Opening a local office is part of OpenAI’s support for the government’s IndiaAI Mission and will help the company better serve millions of students, educators, developers, and professionals who already use its tools. The new entity in India has been registered and hiring has begun.
OpenAI faces legal challenges in India, with news outlets and book publishers accusing the firm of using their content without permission to help train ChatGPT. The company has denied any wrongdoing.
Weekly active users of ChatGPT in India have surged over four times in the past year. India ranks among the top five developer markets globally on the OpenAI platform. It has the largest population of students using ChatGPT worldwide.
