DBS Bank India enables online payments of customs duty, excise and service tax
DBS Bank India has enabled payments of Customs Duty, Central Excise and Service Tax through the Indian Customs Electronic Gateway (ICEGATE) 2.0 platform, allowing corporate customers to make these statutory payments through its DBS IDEAL digital banking platform.
The facility expands the bank’s existing tax payment services, which include Goods and Services Tax (GST) and direct taxes. Businesses can initiate, authorise and track payments through DBS IDEAL, using the platform’s existing approval workflows and transaction monitoring features.
ICEGATE serves as the digital interface between the trading community and Indian Customs. Under the new facility, businesses can select DBS Bank as their banking partner on the customs e-payment platform and complete transactions through DBS IDEAL.
The service is available daily from 4 am to 11 pm, including weekends. Existing DBS IDEAL customers with the required tax-payment entitlement can use the facility without submitting additional documentation.
Divyesh Dalal, Managing Director and Country Head, Global Transaction Services, Corporate Banking – Financial Institutions and SMEs, DBS Bank India, said the addition would allow businesses to manage a wider range of statutory payment obligations through a single platform.
According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, India’s merchandise imports rose 18.2% year-on-year to $363 billion during April-August of FY27, while exports increased to $215.9 billion.
DBS Bank India said the new facility complements its digital transaction banking services for businesses.
