Yash calls himself “Radhikapati” at Ramayana international trailer launch in Bengaluru, credits wife Radhika Pandit for her support
Actor Yash shared a personal moment at the trailer launch of Ramayana: Part One in Bengaluru, where he spoke about the support he receives from his wife, Radhika Pandit. Addressing the gathering, the actor used humour to acknowledge her presence in his life and spoke about the importance of having a supportive partner while taking creative risks.
Radhika was present at the event to support Yash, who is set to portray Ravana in the upcoming film. Referring to the different characters he has played, including Rocky from the KGF franchise, Yash acknowledged his wife before drawing a playful comparison with the term ‘Sitapati’.
“And our Sita is right here, Radhika! Be it Ravana, be it Raya, be it Rocky, be it Raja Huli… whatever it is, when coming home…” he said.
Yash then joked about the way surnames are used, saying, “Nowadays we put our surnames on women, but in that era it was the reverse, Sitapati! Isn’t it? Just like that, we are Radhikapati!”
Yash on the importance of support at home
Moving beyond the light-hearted remark, Yash spoke about how support at home helps him explore unconventional ideas and take on challenging roles. Reflecting on his decision to play Ravana in Ramayana, he said, “Wherever you go, I think if you don’t have that strength at home, if you don’t have that support… because of our crazy ideas, the experiments we do… now, after all this, I’m going and playing Ravana!”
His comments offered a glimpse into the personal support system behind his work, as he prepares to take on a character that differs from some of his best-known roles. Yash has previously gained recognition for playing Rocky in KGF and Raja Huli in the Kannada film of the same name.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Part One is produced by Namit Malhotra and Yash under Monster Mind Creations. The film is scheduled to release in cinemas worldwide on November 5, 2026.
