Strict safety norms for tourist boats at Berm Park in Vijayawada

Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) Chairman Nookasani Balaji on Thursday directed the officials to conduct regular inspections of the boats at Berm Park and allow boats for tourist operations only after confirming their fitness and compliance with safety norms
He inspected the newly constructed washrooms and boating unit at Berm Park and directed officials to improve tourist amenities while ensuring strict safety standards for boating operations.
During his visit, Mr. Balaji reviewed the progress and quality of the construction works and inspected the materials being used. He directed officials to ensure that the facilities conform to the approved design, technical specifications and prescribed quality standards. He said there should be no compromise on quality and instructed officials to complete the works at the earliest.
Later, Mr. Balaji inspected the boating unit and reviewed the condition and maintenance of the boats.
He stressed that tourist safety should be the top priority and instructed boating staff to remain alert and ensure the availability of necessary safety equipment.
He also reviewed the boating control room and directed officials to operate it in accordance with prescribed regulations and safety guidelines. He called for continuous monitoring of boating activities and said the control room should be equipped to respond immediately to emergencies.
Mr. Balaji further directed officials to focus on cleanliness, safety and maintenance of infrastructure to provide visitors with a better experience. He said tourist convenience and safety should remain the primary responsibility of all officials and staff at the park.
