Sonam Bajwa switches from dramatic crochet gown to traditional Bandhani-inspired ensemble!

Sonam Bajwa’s recent fashion choices offer two very different takes on occasion dressing. While one look leans into the drama of a floor-length gown, the other draws from traditional Indian textiles and festive styling. The contrast makes both outfits stand out in their own way.

The white crochet gown

For her first look, Sonam opted for a white crochet gown featuring a halter neckline, intricate patterns and a long, flowing trail. The openwork detailing gives the outfit a sheer finish, while the floor-length silhouette adds movement to the look.

She kept the styling relatively understated, allowing the gown to remain the focal point. Her hair was left open and the makeup stayed subtle, creating a balanced finish against the elaborate detailing of the outfit.

The combination of the fitted silhouette, halter neckline and extended trail gives the gown a distinctly evening-ready feel without relying on excessive accessories.

A maroon take on traditional style

Sonam took a completely different approach in her second look, choosing a maroon Bandhani-inspired ensemble. The traditional-inspired patterns appear across the blouse, skirt and dupatta, giving the outfit a distinctly festive character.

She paired the ensemble with a metallic clutch, bringing a contemporary element to the otherwise traditional styling. The combination allows the prints and colour to remain central while the accessory adds a little contrast.

Unlike the structured drama of the white gown, this look relies on colour, print and layered detailing to make an impression. The result is a more traditional outfit that still feels suited to a modern wardrobe.

Two sides of Sonam’s style

The appeal of these looks lies largely in how different they are. The white crochet gown relies on its silhouette and texture, while the maroon ensemble draws attention through its traditional-inspired patterns and rich colour.

Both looks also demonstrate Sonam’s willingness to move between different fashion categories rather than stick to one signature aesthetic. From a contemporary gown with dramatic detailing to an Indian-inspired festive outfit, the two appearances showcase distinctly different approaches to dressing up.

Rather than competing with each other, the looks highlight the range in Sonam’s wardrobe and her ability to adapt her styling to different moods and occasions.
