Riteish Deshmukh makes his Telugu debut with Ram Pothineni’s #RAPO23
Riteish Deshmukh is set to make his Telugu film debut with Energetic Star Ram Pothineni’s upcoming film, #RAPO23. The makers have announced his association with the project as the team continues filming in Hyderabad. A behind-the-scenes video shared by the makers captures Riteish arriving on set and Ram welcoming him with a hug.
The film marks Ram Pothineni’s directorial debut, with the actor taking on the dual responsibility of leading the project and directing it. Produced by Krishna Pothineni under the Rapo Cinematics banner, #RAPO23 is being mounted on a large scale and is set in a neo-noir world.
Riteish, who has worked across several Hindi films, including Ek Villain, Raid 2 and Raja Shivaji, will now be seen in Telugu cinema for the first time. According to the makers, the actor agreed to join the project after being impressed by the script and his character. His role is said to be pivotal to the film’s narrative.
The BTS video offers a glimpse into the ongoing Hyderabad schedule. While Riteish’s face is kept out of view in the clip, it captures his arrival on set and his interaction with Ram Pothineni as the two actors reunite for the project. The announcement also marks a new collaboration between the actors as the film progresses through its shoot.
Samyuktha plays the female lead in #RAPO23, with several other actors set to feature in key roles. The technical team includes cinematographer Thirunavukarasu, also known as Tirru, production designer AS Prakash and music composer Sam CS.
The film’s action sequences are being choreographed by Peter Hein, Vikram Mor and Kevin, bringing together a team of stunt professionals for the project.
With filming currently underway in Hyderabad, #RAPO23 marks two key developments: Ram Pothineni’s first directorial venture and Riteish Deshmukh’s entry into Telugu cinema. Further details about the film’s cast and release plans are awaited.
