Ramayana Hyderabad event: Yash praises Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘0% ego’; reveals they haven’t shot any scenes together
Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi, Rakul Preet Singh, Ravie Dubey, producer Namit Malhotra, director Nitesh Tiwari and Andhra Pradesh-Telangana distributor Dil Raju attended the grand pre-release event of Ramayana in Hyderabad. Yash was the last to take the stage and he spoke highly of his co-stars, particularly Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Ravie Dubey.
Yash said, “Ravi is such a genuine person. I have been observing him closely. He’s so mature, so sorted. I think sometimes, everything happens for a reason. For him to get this role, I think it’s his mindset and the way he has understood life. Life has given him this. Mark my words. He’ll surprise you the most. It’s not easy to play a character like that. He holds the cinema together. I am so proud of you. Wonderful performance!”
He then praised Sai Pallavi, saying, “I call her Pallavi. What a wonderful person; what a lady! She gives you the feminine energy. She’s in that Sita Maa vibe. I was so surprised to see her. She’s so religious.”
Speaking about Ranbir Kapoor, Yash said, “Ranbir is such a wonderful person. He has absolutely 0% ego. He’s a very sorted individual. Although we have not worked together, because of our promotional activities, we’ve been travelling. And he is childlike; don’t take it the wrong way. But he’s innocent, he’s curious and he makes you think about life in so many dimensions, which I wouldn’t have thought. As he starts asking questions, I’ll be thinking, ‘Should I be thinking of these aspects also?’ (laughs). He’s so full of life. What an actor!”
He added, “It’s not easy to play Lord Rama. You have to give him love and respect. He’s done a fantastic job.”
Ramayana releases in cinemas worldwide on November 5.
