Rakul Preet Singh serves understated luxury in Rs 2.75 lakhs bronze-gold tissue saree for Ramayana trailer launch; see post
Rakul Preet Singh opted for understated luxury at the international trailer launch of Ramayana: Rise of a Legend in Bengaluru, wearing a bronze-gold tissue saree paired with an ice-blue embroidered zardozi blouse. Styled by Ami Patel, the actor’s outfit brought together traditional Indian craftsmanship and contemporary detailing. According to details confirmed by the homegrown luxury label Itrh to ETimes, the two-piece ensemble is priced at Rs 2.75 lakh. The event also saw Rakul speak about her role as Surpanakha in the upcoming film and praise her co-stars Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi.

For the occasion, Rakul chose an ensemble that highlighted the interplay of colours, textures and intricate workmanship. The luminous bronze-gold tissue saree featured a finely embroidered border and a fluid drape, lending the traditional silhouette a refined finish. She paired it with an ice-blue blouse adorned with intricate zardozi embroidery. A mirror-detail jhallar added a contemporary element to the blouse, creating a contrast with the saree’s warm metallic tones.
The two pieces from Itrh together cost Rs 2.75 lakh, as confirmed by the brand to ETimes. Rakul accessorised the look with kadas and statement earrings from Jagdish Jewellers and Razwada Jewels, keeping the focus on the ensemble’s craftsmanship and contrasting colours.
Itrh, whose name is derived from the word ittar, meaning perfume, is a luxury Indian couture and occasion-wear label founded by Ridhi Bansal and Mohit Rai. The brand is known for its maximalist aesthetic and use of traditional crafts.
At the trailer launch, Rakul also spoke about her connection with Bengaluru, recalling that her film journey began in the city. According to Bollywood Hungama, she said, “So, Bangalore is a very special place for me. My first film happened in Bangalore. And at that point i didn’t even know if I really wanted to act. So I’ve gotten so much love from this place. So it’s really special to today stand here after all these years and be a part of ‘Ramayana’,” she said.
The actor also expressed her appreciation for director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra for bringing the epic to the screen. Highlighting the significance of the story, she said, “I think for me it’s just such a pleasure to be a part of a vision, a humongous vision that Nitesh sir and Namit sir have created. And I’m just so happy to be a part of it because Ramayana is so close to the hearts of each and every one of us. So all I can say is I really hope that all of you enjoy the film and give us all the love. There’s a lot of hard work that’s gone behind. Everyone’s performed really well: Sai, Ranbir, Yash, brother Ravana Yash. So, I really hope you all love it and give it all the love. Yeah, thank you. Thank you so much.”
Rakul will portray Surpanakha, a significant character in the larger narrative of the Ramayana. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Rise of a Legend is the first instalment of a planned two-part cinematic adaptation. The film is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.
