Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, along with co-producers Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani, the film continues the story that first gained a following in 2018. The big-screen adaptation features an ensemble cast including Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Abhishek Banerjee, Rasika Dugal, Mohitt Maalik, Sheeba Chadha, Rajesh Tailang, Pramod Pathak, Harshita Shekhar Gaur, Shweta Tripathi and Sonal S Chauhan. The film will also see the return of popular characters such as Divyenndu’s Munna Bhaiya, Kulbhushan Kharbanda’s Satyanand Tripathi and Shriya Pilgaonkar’s Sweety Gupta.

During a promotional event for the film in Patna, Pankaj Tripathi revisited an important chapter of his early career. Addressing the crowd in Bihar, the actor recalled the days when he was a theatre artist working to establish himself before making his mark in films.

Tripathi remembered travelling by bicycle from Kankarbagh to Khagaul for theatre rehearsals. He shared how those early experiences remain closely connected to his journey as an actor.

Recalling his first play at the N.C. Ghosh Institute in Khagaul, Pankaj Tripathi said, “It was right here that I performed my very first play at N.C. Ghosh Institute in Khagaul. For about a month and a half, I used to cycle all the way from Kankarbagh to come here for the performances. So, when I arrived at the station 30 years later and saw the NC Ghosh building, memories from those days came flooding back.”

Returning to Danapur station decades later, this time amid fans and as an established actor, brought back memories of his early struggles and theatre days. Tripathi also spoke about his connection with Bihar and expressed pride in witnessing the region’s growth and the warmth he continues to receive there.

For the actor, the visit was more than just part of the film’s promotional campaign. It became an opportunity to revisit the journey that began with theatre, long before he became widely recognised on screen.
