Lorry crashes into three vehicles at Marathakkara signal in Thrissur

A driver allegedly lost control of the lorry he was driving and rammed three vehicles waiting at a traffic signal on the national highway at Kunjannappara, Marathakkara, in Thrissur on Thursday night.

The accident occurred at around 10.30 p.m. when a goods lorry crashed into the rear of vehicles waiting at the signal towards Ernakulam.

A container lorry, a car behind it and another goods lorry were lined up at the signal when a speeding lorry ploughed into them from behind.

The car was caught between the two lorries, whose occupants had a narrow escape. Both the front and rear portions of the car were badly damaged in the impact.

The front portion of the goods lorry that crashed into the stationary vehicles was also damaged.

The driver of the goods lorry sustained minor injuries in the accident.
