Lancashire Women complete signing of Riva Pindoria from Middlesex
Lancashire Women have announced the signing of Riva Pindoria from Middlesex on a two-year contract that runs until the end of the 2028 season. The 20-year-old Barnet-born all-rounder will join the club permanently in November, ahead of the 2027 season, following the conclusion of winter training preparations at Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground.
Pindoria had already featured for Lancashire Second XI earlier in the summer of 2026 before the permanent move was confirmed, giving the coaching staff an early look at her abilities within the set-up. The signing was confirmed on October 14, 2026.
“I am extremely proud and excited to sign a contract with Lancashire. It is a huge milestone in my career, and I can’t wait to get started in the coming months. Having spoken to Readie [Chris Read] ahead of the move, I am really drawn to the project at Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground and believe I can contribute to help the squad achieve their goals over the coming years. I am looking forward to joining a talented group and really getting stuck into things during my time at Lancashire,” Riva Pindoria was quoted as saying by Lancashire Cricket.
What did Pindoria achieve at Middlesex in 2026?
Pindoria had a productive 2026 season with Middlesex across two formats before her departure was confirmed. In the 2026 Vitality Blast, she struck at a rate of 127, registering a highest score of 52 not out from just 28 balls against Sussex. That innings came at the end of July and underlined her ability to score quickly at the top level of the domestic women’s game.
She also contributed in the longer format during the summer. In a Metro Bank One-Day Cup match against Kent in July 2026, Pindoria scored 60 from 72 deliveries for Middlesex, demonstrating her capacity to build an innings when conditions demanded a more measured approach.
Beyond her county commitments, Pindoria was selected in the South Asian Cricket Academy’s inaugural squad for the women’s pilot programme during the 2026 season. That squad comprised 15 players, and her inclusion reflected the regard in which she was held within the domestic women’s cricket structure in England.
What does Lancashire Women’s head coach say about the signing?
Lancashire Women’s Head Coach Chris Read had already worked with Pindoria during her Second XI appearances for the county earlier in 2026, giving him direct knowledge of what she could offer the squad on a permanent basis. Her performances in those games, combined with her output for Middlesex across the Vitality Blast and the Metro Bank One-Day Cup, informed the club’s decision to secure her on a two-year deal.
“We are delighted to be able to sign Riva and bring her into our set-up ahead of the 2027 season. She is an extremely talented batter, who can offer plenty of skill and versatility with the bat. We think she has the talent to make a real difference to the squad. Having already brought her into the fold for some Second XI games earlier in the season, we are really excited for Riva to join us permanently in November for the start of winter training,” said the coach.
