Karthik Nagarajan, chief executive officer of WPP Production India, has announced his departure from the company after nearly four years. In a LinkedIn post, he said he would be moving on to pursue new challenges.

“After a most fulfilling 3.5 years as India CEO of WPP Production (formerly Hogarth), I will be moving on, to pursue new challenges,” he wrote.

His departure marks the end of a tenure during which WPP Production India expanded its business and strengthened its focus on AI enabled content production.

Reflecting on his time at the company, Nagarajan credited the team for driving the organisation’s transformation, describing them as “magicians at the confluence of craft and technology.”

“I am really proud of what we have built in these four years, both as a culture and as a business,” he said. He also thanked WPP India chairman CVL Srinivas and GroupM South Asia president Tushar Vyas for giving him the opportunity to lead the business.

Nagarajan took charge of Hogarth India in January 2023, before the company was rebranded as WPP Production as part of WPP’s global restructuring. According to his LinkedIn profile, he led the company’s transformation towards AI centred content production while continuing to strengthen its production and content capabilities. Under his leadership, WPP Production India tripled in size over three years.

With more than two decades of experience across digital marketing, content, analytics and technology, Nagarajan has held leadership positions at GroupM, Wavemaker, Nielsen, NM Incite, Frost & Sullivan and Shipcom Wireless.

Beyond his executive role, he serves as an Industry Council Member at the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies and has been a Board Member at I-COM Global since 2015.
