Education Department official urges teachers to focus on improving learning outcomes

School Education Principal Secretary J. Shyamala Rao on Saturday visited government schools in Edupugallu village of Kankipadu mandal in Krishna district and interacted with students and teachers, briefly taking on the role of a classroom teacher.

Accompanied by Director of School Education A. Tameem Ansariya and Samagra Shiksha State Project Director B. Srinivasa Rao, Mr. Shyamala Rao visited the Adarsha Primary School and PM Shri Zilla Parishad High School. At the primary school, he examined the FLN Jaduyi Pitara kit and observed students using its learning resources. He conducted interactive activities in Telugu, English and Mathematics, asking children to identify, read and write letters and encouraging them for their participation.

He also inspected the food served under the Dokka Seethamma Mid Day Meal Scheme, tasted the meal and millet chikki, and appreciated their quality. He reviewed the bags and assessment books supplied through the Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Vidyarthi Mitra Kit and enquired about teachers’ performance.

Directing teachers to give individual attention to students and focus on improving learning outcomes, he particularly appreciated Class III student Harika after seeing her drawings and encouraged her to pursue her interests. He also used stories from the Values Education books to engage students.

At the PM Shri Zilla Parishad High School, Scouts and Guides students accorded the visiting officials a ceremonial salute. The officials inspected the PAL Lab, Clicker Classes and sports lab, besides interacting with students about their competencies and skills.

During an interaction with Class X students preparing for Mission March, Mr. Shyamala Rao advised them to plan their studies systematically and avoid examination-related stress. He then stepped up to the classroom board and taught Mathematics, engaging students through questions and answers.

Later, at a School Complex Meeting on the school premises, he held discussions with teachers on timely completion of the syllabus, adoption of simple teaching methods and strengthening students’ language skills. He said the government was making significant investments in the future of students and stressed that teachers should contribute towards shaping them into responsible citizens and guiding them towards progress.
