Animal sacrifice banned at Bishtadevi Fair in Khanapur

The Belagavi district administration has banned animal sacrifice during the Kakkari Sri Bishtadevi Fair of Khanapur taluk when Ayudha Puja and Vijayadasami are celebrated starting Monday till Wednesday.

This follows an application by president of World Animal Welfare Council and Animal Sacrifice Eradication Awareness Maha Sangha Sri Dayanand Swamiji.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan has directed officials concerned to take steps to ensure that the order is implemented properly, according to a release.
