Animal Park Timeline Update: Sandeep Reddy Vanga to Take Six-Month Break After Spirit
Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga will take a six-month break following the completion of his ongoing film Spirit before beginning work on Animal Park, according to producer Pranay Reddy Vanga. The sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Animal remains the director’s designated project after his current production schedule wraps up.
What Happened
In an interview with a Telugu channel, producer Pranay Reddy Vanga outlined the production roadmap for director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Pranay shared that the creative team is entirely dedicated to finishing Spirit, which stars Prabhas and Triptii Dimri and is currently in production.
Addressing the timeline for the highly anticipated sequel Animal Park, Pranay stated that Sandeep will step away for half a year upon finishing Spirit. He explained that immediate work on the Ranbir Kapoor starrer will only commence once that rest period concludes. Pranay also noted that establishing a fixed calendar for the film is challenging at this stage because the director writes at a deliberate pace and takes substantial time to complete his screenplays.
Additionally, Pranay responded to circulating speculation regarding a potential collaboration between Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Telugu actor Mahesh Babu, a project rumoured to involve producer Sunil Narang. He confirmed that while Sandeep holds high regard for Mahesh Babu and future discussions remain possible, Spirit and Animal Park are the only immediate priorities on the filmmaker’s schedule.
Key Highlights
- Spirit Remains Current Focus: The production team is presently concentrating on completing the Prabhas starrer Spirit.
- Planned Hiatus: Sandeep Reddy Vanga will take an official six-month break directly after concluding work on Spirit.
- Animal Park is Next: Pre-production and development on the Ranbir Kapoor fronted sequel will begin following the six-month hiatus.
- Writing Pace: Pranay explained that definitive release or shooting schedules cannot be finalized quickly because the director writes his scripts slowly.
- Mahesh Babu Speculation Addressed: Other proposed projects, including rumoured work with Mahesh Babu, will only be evaluated after completing current commitments.
Why This Matters
The update clarifies the sequence of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming ventures following the box-office success of Animal in 2023. The original feature concluded with a narrative setup involving Ranvijay Singh Balbir and Aziz, building substantial viewer anticipation for a sequel. Pranay’s statements confirm that audiences will experience an extended wait, as the writing and pre-production process for Animal Park will not start until both the completion of Spirit and the director’s scheduled post-production hiatus are concluded.
What to Watch Next
The immediate milestone on the calendar remains the ongoing production and eventual release of Spirit. Official announcements regarding the screenplay progress, principal photography dates, and confirmed cast details for Animal Park are anticipated only after Sandeep Reddy Vanga finishes Spirit and concludes his scheduled six-month break.
