Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya to headline PlayCom 2025: Business of Sports Summit

The PlayCom – Business of Sports Summit 2025, jointly hosted by Sportstar and KPMG in India, will bring together policymakers, athletes, and industry leaders to frame the next chapter of Indian sport.

The two-day conclave, at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, opens on Friday with a keynote address by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Honourable Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, who will also unveil the KPMG Sportstar India Business of Sports Report. This will be followed by an address from P.T. Usha, president, Indian Olympic Association.

Among key discussions on day 1 is a panel titled “India in a League of its Own: How India Shapes Global Sport”, featuring Arun Dhumal (Chairman, Indian Premier League), Anupam Goswami (Business Head – Mashal & League Commissioner, Pro Kabaddi League), Rajah Chaudhry (Head of Strategy, Asia Pacific & Country Head – India, NBA), and Vita Dani (Co-Owner, Chennaiyin FC; Chairperson, Ultimate Table Tennis; Promoter, Dani Sports Foundation).

The conversation then moves into the future of fandom with “Stadiums Without Walls: Building the Next Fan Universe”, featuring Siddharth Sharma ( (Head, Viewership and Monetisation Initiative – Sports, JioStar) ), Veer Damaraju (EVP, Technology, DAZN India), Aneesh Madani (Ex-IOC, Partnerships & Innovation), and Nikhil Bansal (Head – Gaming & eServices, Google India).

A strong regional spotlight follows through the Tamil Nadu State Showcase, led by J. Meghanatha Reddy IAS (Member Secretary and CEO, Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority), and a discussion on “Grassroots to Glory: Tamil Nadu’s Olympic Dream” with Dr. Atulya Misra IAS (Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Department of Youth Welfare and Sports Development).

Day 2 shifts focus to long-term ambitions with “Gameplan 2036: India’s Global Event Ambitions”, featuring Hari Ranjan Rao IAS (Secretary, Sports, Government of India), Gagan Narang (Vice President, Indian Olympic Association) and Achanta Sharath Kamal (Olympian, Vice Chairperson, Athletes Commission, IOA). A Uttar Pradesh State Showcase will be presented by Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj IAS (Secretary Sports, Government of Uttar Pradesh).

The summit will also feature a special fireside chat, “Leadership & Life Beyond the Pitch”, with Kapil Dev, 1983 World Cup-winning India captain.
