Telugu actor Fish Venkat dies at 53, Prabhas had offered support
Telugu actor and comedian Fish Venkat, known for his supporting roles in several Telugu films, has passed away at the age of 53. He breathed his last on Thursday at a private hospital in Hyderabad, where he was undergoing treatment for kidney-related ailments.
According to reports, Fish Venkat had been battling kidney disease for some time and was in a critical condition. He had appealed for financial assistance as his health deteriorated. In response, actor Prabhas reportedly extended monetary help to Venkat shortly before his demise.
Popular producer and actor Bandla Ganesh confirmed the news of Venkat’s death via social media. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, “Fish Venkat is no more. Om Shanti.”
Fish Venkat had been a familiar face in Telugu cinema, particularly known for his roles as a sidekick or henchman in action and comedy films. He worked in more than 150 films over the span of his career, often playing memorable supporting characters that left a mark on the audience.
Reports state that Venkat was admitted to the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Hyderabad and was later moved to a private facility when his condition worsened.
His last rites are expected to be held in Hyderabad with family, friends, and colleagues from the Telugu film industry in attendance.
The sudden passing of Fish Venkat has left fans and members of the Telugu film fraternity deeply saddened. His contributions to the industry, particularly in comic and villainous roles, are fondly remembered by audiences.
