Shabana Azmi to be honoured at Jagran Film Festival 2025 for 50 years in cinema


The 13th edition of Rajnigandha presents Jagran Film Festival (JFF), the world’s largest travel film festival, will be held in Delhi from September 4th to 7th, 2025, celebrating world cinema. This year, the festival will also pay tribute to Shabana Azmi as she completes 50 years in the industry. Known for her remarkable performances and her contribution to social causes, Shabana Azmi has made a lasting impact both on screen and beyond.

As part of the tribute, JFF will celebrate five decades of Shabana Azmi’s career with a retrospective showcasing her work from Ankur (1974) to her recent performances. The showcase will reflect her versatility, memorable roles, and the influence she has had on generations of actors and filmmakers.

Speaking about completing 50 proud years in Bollywood, Shabana Azmi said, “Cinema has been my greatest teacher and lifelong companion. These 50 years have been a journey of learning, discovery, and the joy of telling stories that matter. I am deeply grateful to audiences who have embraced my work over the decades. Having this milestone celebrated at Jagran Film Festival is truly special. For me, the journey continues because as long as there are stories to tell, there will always be a role to play.”
