Rakul Preet Singh opens up on travel, love and finding balance; says, “Marriage hasn’t changed my life”
Rakul Preet Singh is in a new chapter of her life — newly married, yet refreshingly unchanged. The actress, who tied the knot with actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani last year, revealed that while marriage has been a major milestone, it hasn’t altered her day-to-day life as much as people expect.
“People keep asking how life has changed after marriage. But the truth is it hasn’t. And that’s the beauty of it,” Rakul shared in her conversation with Travel + Leisure. “Jackky and I are best friends, partners, equals. We’re building dreams together, but nothing about our individual paths feels compromised.”
With her signature mix of wit and honesty, Rakul added a light-hearted detail: “If anything has changed, it’s just that I don’t need to ask my parents before travelling with my favourite companion.”
For Rakul, travel has always been more than just vacations and photo-worthy escapes. She sees it as a form of education and a source of creativity — something that began in her early childhood and continues to shape her today. “Travel is extremely essential. It makes you grow, evolve. You see life from different perspectives. It pushes your boundaries,” she said.
Her perspective comes from a life shaped by constant movement. Growing up in Army cantonments across India, Rakul experienced frequent shifts in cities, schools, and friendships. That upbringing, she has often said, made her adaptable and gave her the ability to find belonging wherever she goes — qualities that continue to influence her career and lifestyle.
Now, whether it’s work trips or personal getaways, Rakul treats travel as an integral part of her growth. For her, exploring new places isn’t just about leisure but about opening her mind to new ways of life, people, and cultures.
On the work front, Rakul has an exciting year ahead. She has recently wrapped Pati Patni Aur Woh 2, co-starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan. She will also be seen in De De Pyaar De 2 alongside Ajay Devgn, with R. Madhavan joining the cast.
As she continues to balance her professional commitments with her personal life, Rakul’s words reflect a grounded yet evolving outlook — one where marriage, travel, and work all flow seamlessly into one another.
