Priyank Panchal reveals reasoning behind premature retirement
Priyank Panchal recently revealed why he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket aged 35. The long-standing figure in India’s domestic cricket system made the decision public on May 26 earlier this year.
Panchal’s response came while he was hosting an Ask Me Anything session with his followers on X. His response to a cricket fan made it seem as Panchal had made peace with not being in the reckoning of making an international debut for India.
Every cricketer has two careers – the playing & non-playing one. Once I knew I couldn’t play for India, it made sense to begin the latter early and get a headstart. Eventually there’s more to life than cricket #AMAwithPriyank https://t.co/sqMefo8Id1

The top-order batter was also a part of the title-winning setups of Gujarat in the 2012/13 and 2013/14 installments of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the 2015/16 installment of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
