Mrunal Thakur and Adivi Sesh injured on Dacoit set during intense action sequence, reveal reports
Actors Mrunal Thakur and Adivi Sesh sustained injuries during a recent shoot for their upcoming romantic action film Dacoit, according to multiple reports. The incident occurred while filming a high-intensity action sequence, leading to concerns over on-set safety protocols.
According to a report by Telugu 360, Adivi Sesh’s injuries were serious enough to require medical attention, prompting him to take a short break from filming. Mrunal Thakur, who also suffered minor injuries during the same sequence, reportedly received first aid along with Sesh but chose to continue filming her remaining scenes for the day.
While the exact nature of their injuries has not been disclosed, the news has reignited conversations around safety on film sets—especially following the recent and tragic death of stuntman SM Raju during the filming of another project directed by Pa Ranjith. The accident drew widespread attention and prompted actor Akshay Kumar to announce an initiative offering insurance coverage for stunt performers in the Indian film industry.
Directed by Shaniel Deo, Dacoit is a romantic action drama that explores themes of love, betrayal, and vengeance. The story follows an enraged convict who escapes custody to seek revenge against his former lover, played by Mrunal Thakur, who allegedly betrayed him. Adivi Sesh essays the lead role of the heartbroken yet dangerous protagonist.
The film also features an ensemble supporting cast including Anurag Kashyap, Prakash Raj, Zayn Marie Khan, Atul Kulkarni, Sunil, and Kamakshi Bhaskarla. It is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 25, 2025.
Earlier this year, the makers unveiled the film’s poster and a brief announcement teaser, offering a glimpse into its gritty tone and intense emotional landscape. The film has generated significant anticipation, especially for its unique blend of romance and high-stakes action.
The incident has once again raised concerns about adequate precautions during complex stunt choreography and the importance of medical preparedness on sets. With Adivi Sesh expected to rejoin the team after recovery, the production team is reportedly working on more measures to ensure the safety and well-being of its cast.
