Allamprabhu Patil, MLA, of the Kalaburagi South constituency visited several villages to assess the extensive crop damage caused by two weeks of incessant heavy rainfall. The unseasonal downpour has wreaked havoc on cash crops, including red gram, green gram, black gram, and sunflower, leaving farmers in a state of despair.

On Saturday, the MLA toured fields in the villages of Pattana, Bheemalli, Melakunda, and Savalagi. He personally witnessed the devastation, observing red gram crops rotting in the fields and pulses like green gram and black gram sprouting in pods of the standing crops. Deeply concerned by the plight of the farmers, he spoke with many who had suffered significant losses due to the flash floods and waterlogging.

Farmers, in turn, shared their distress with the MLA, explaining that the monsoon crops, on which their livelihoods depend, have been completely destroyed. They pleaded with him for urgent government intervention and compensation.

In response, MLA Patil offered assurances and words of encouragement. He promised the farmers that he would take immediate action to ensure that the government provides appropriate relief for the crop damage.

The MLA was accompanied by tahsildar Anand Shivanth, Agriculture Department officer Arun Patil, and local leaders, including Ismail, Jeevanagi Chandrakant, Santosh Patil Dannur, Ramesh Kanagond Savalagi, and Neelakanth and Basavaraj from Bheemalli. Other Congress leaders, officials, and villagers were also present during the visit.
