Jatadhara: Sonakshi Sinha looks fierce in the film’s first song ‘Dhana Pisaachi’
The makers of Jatadhara, starring Sudheer Babu and Sonakshi Sinha, unveiled the film’s first song ‘Dhana Pisaachi’ on the occasion of Durga Ashtami. Produced by Zee Studios and Prerna Arora, the track serves as the audience’s first glimpse of Sonakshi in the upcoming fantasy drama, which is among the most anticipated releases of the year.
‘Dhana Pisaachi’ is positioned as a high-energy number that showcases Sonakshi in a darker, more intense avatar. The choreography and presentation emphasize raw expressions and strong body language, setting a tone that aligns with the film’s theme of conflict between light and darkness.
The track has been composed by Samira Koppikar, with vocals by Madhubanti Bagchi. Sharing her experience, Koppikar explained that the song reflects what she describes as “Divine Feminine energy.” She said, “It’s been a unique & joyful experience… an expression of ‘Divine Feminine energy’ that too a sort of Tandav song for ‘Dhana Pisaachi’. Although it was challenging yet fulfilling. One had to capture the Spirit of the Divine Diva musically, do a bit of research… push one’s boundaries. Loved it! All concerned have felt that I have nailed the brief & captured the essence of their ‘Vision’… the Power, edginess, wrath & electric energy of this Goddess.”
The song has been filmed on a large scale and serves as a character introduction for Sonakshi, who is taking on a role described as one of her most unconventional to date. The visual design and soundscape aim to position the track as more than just a commercial number, instead placing it within the narrative framework of the film.
Alongside Sonakshi and Sudheer Babu, Jatadhara also stars Divya Khossla, Shilpa Shirodkar, Indira Krishna, and Ravi Prakash. Directed by Karthik K, the film is set to release in both Hindi and Telugu on November 7.
With its first song out, Jatadhara now moves closer to its theatrical release, promising a blend of mythology-inspired drama and large-scale spectacle.
