Jaishankar Highlights Deeper Business Relations For Stronger India–Singapore Cooperation

New Delhi, Aug 18 (KNN) The third India–Singapore Ministerial Roundtable was held in New Delhi on August 13, 2025, bringing together key ministers from both nations to review and strengthen their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar hosted the talks and welcomed the high-level Singaporean delegation.

Jaishankar underlined the importance of closer cooperation between governments and industries, noting that such synergy is crucial for the next phase of India–Singapore relations.

He shared his discussions with the India–Singapore Business Roundtable, highlighting how business collaboration can complement policy decisions and unlock greater opportunities.

The Singaporean team was led by Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong and included senior leaders such as Coordinating Minister K. Shanmugam, Foreign Minister Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Digital Development Minister Josephine Teo, Manpower Minister Dr. Tan See Leng, and Acting Transport Minister Jeffrey Siow.

On the Indian side, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and Railways, Electronics, IT and I&B Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw participated, reflecting the wide scope of the dialogue.

The roundtable built upon earlier editions held in September 2022 in New Delhi and August 2024 in Singapore.

Discussions this year focused on six priority areas—digitalisation, skill development, sustainability, healthcare, connectivity, and advanced manufacturing.

Both sides agreed that collaboration in these fields can deliver long-term benefits for citizens and businesses alike.

The meeting reinforced the commitment of India and Singapore to deepen strategic ties, not just at the government level but also through active industry engagement, setting the stage for stronger economic and diplomatic cooperation.
