The Financial Times (FT) Masters in Management Rankings 2025 have named IIM Bangalore as India’s top management institute, placing it at 28th globally. This ranking sees IIMB surpassing IIM Ahmedabad, which secured 34th spot, despite being ranked as India’s best management institute in the NIRF 2025 survey.Other leading Indian business schools in the FT rankings include SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, XLRI — Xavier School of Management, IIM Kozhikode, MDI Gurgaon, IIM Indore, IIM Udaipur, and IMI Delhi. These rankings consider factors such as career services, alumni employment rates within three months, and weighted salary in USD, highlighting both domestic and international performance.

Globally, the FT ranking evaluated 100 business schools, placing University of St Gallen, Switzerland, at the top, followed by HEC Paris, INSEAD, Nova School of Business and Economics, Portugal, and Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management, China. Interestingly, the top 10 this year feature no US schools, with French and Chinese institutions dominating.

Rising ranks for IIMs
Compared to last year, IIM Bangalore and IIM Ahmedabad have both climbed in the rankings, while SP Jain led India at 35th spot in 2024, followed by IIM Ahmedabad (39), IIM Bangalore (41), and IIM Lucknow (55). This upward trajectory reflects the growing global recognition of India’s premier management schools.
