DPA Chairman Sushil Kumar Singh says, “…During PM Modi’s Bhuj visit on 26th May, he laid the foundation stone for the 10 MW green hydrogen plant. Kandla Port made a swift decision in a mission mode and installed 1 MW out of the 10 MW today, commissioning it.”

“Our Shipping Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal, inaugurated the project. The plan is to continue the work at the same speed, making Kandla Port the first port in the country to establish an ecosystem of green hydrogen at a megawatt scale,” he added.

“We will quickly execute the remaining nine megawatts and any further steps… Kandla Port will play a key role, marking a major step toward decarbonization and net zero in maritime by 2050 and will also give us the leading position in terms of ports and transport providers… We will leverage our authority to act swiftly… Soon, Kandla will gain global recognition for progress in Green Hub initiatives,” he said.
