Bengaluru: Woman sells her newborn; seeks police help to get her back

The Devarajeevana Halli police on Tuesday registered a case of human trafficking against three persons for allegedly buying a newborn girl for ₹2.5 lakh from her mother.

The complainant, Naseema Babu, 33, a resident of Vinoba Nagar, in her complaint admitted that she had sold her fourth newborn child to Amuda, Ramya, and Kannan as she was in dire need of money.

Naseema was married to Dastagir 15 years ago, and the couple had four children, two daughters and two sons. She sold the youngest daughter soon after the delivery at a hospital in Shivaji Nagar on July 26.

Later, she realised the mistake and asked the accused to return the baby. When the accused refused, Naseema approached the police and filed a complaint.

The police are trying to track down the accused.
