Ananya Panday opens up on body positivity; says, “Being kind to your body is most important”
Bollywood actress Ananya Panday has always been vocal about mental health and self-love, and this time, she struck a chord yet again with her candid take on body positivity. Appearing on the New York Institute of Fashion (NIF) Podcast, the young star opened up about her experiences with body shaming, how she handles criticism, and why kindness toward oneself is the ultimate form of strength.
When asked how she deals with body-shaming comments, Ananya revealed that she prefers not to engage with negativity. “I don’t think I would say anything because if you are saying something back, then you are giving in to them. I speak so much of kindness, so I wouldn’t want to be unkind to someone. I think just working on yourself and loving yourself is the best reply to give back to anyone,” she said.
Highlighting that body positivity is not an overnight achievement, the Dream Girl 2 actress admitted it is an ongoing process. “Even for me honestly, this body positivity and self-love is a journey. It’s not like, oh now I know everything and I have reached some high level of self-love,” she explained.
Ananya also spoke about the challenges of being in the spotlight. “As an actor, you are literally like naked in front of people. You have to cultivate a lot of strength, confidence, and happiness with who you are. Being kind to your body is very important,” she emphasized.
The actress shared her personal struggles with fluctuating self-perception, admitting that there are phases when she feels she isn’t skinny enough, or at times, too skinny. She noted that she often questions whether she should be stronger or different in appearance but reminds herself that it’s all part of a longer journey of self-acceptance.
Fans have since praised Ananya for her vulnerable and honest reflections. Many lauded her for sending a powerful message to young audiences who often feel pressured by societal beauty standards. Social media is buzzing with clips from the podcast, with netizens calling her words “refreshing,” “real,” and “much-needed.”
On the work front, Ananya Panday will next be seen in Dharma Productions’ upcoming romantic comedy Tu Mera Main Teri Main Teri Tu Mera opposite Kartik Aaryan, along with Chand Mera Dil with Lakshya, as well as other exciting projects lined up for release.
With her thoughtful take on body positivity, Ananya continues to inspire fans, reminding everyone that self-love is a journey—and kindness is the key.
