Ramayana Day 4 (Hindi) Box Office: Ranbir Kapoor, and Yash starrer stays STEADY despite Diwali; collects Rs. 40 crore on Sunday
The Ranbir Kapoor and Yash led Ramayana is continuing with its glorious run at the box office in Hindi. After collecting Rs. 131.41 crore on the first three days, the Nitesh Tiwari directorial has collected in the range of Rs. 38 crore to Rs. 40 crore on Sunday, taking the total collections to Rs. 171 crore.
This has come in the Pre-Diwali period and is more like the biggest ever Pre-Diwali collection of all time. The real test of Ramayana begins on Monday, as that’s when the Holiday period kicks in. Ramayana will be looking to score the biggest single-day business of all time, and then continue the momentum until Thursday to put up a big week-one total.
The target for Ramayana will be to clock Rs. 400 crore in the first week, with the peak coming in from Monday to Thursday due to the celebrations of Hindu New Year and Bhai Dooj. So far, a large chunk of business is coming in from the urban centres, as the mass belts in specific areas are hit by pre-Diwali, but the magic of Ramayana will begin from tomorrow, when the B and C run to capacities, stirring a rage at the box office.
The film is doing well in the South dubbed versions too, and is headed to emerge the #1 dubbed film in 4 days flat of all time by going past the lifetime collections of Animal and Jawan. Ramayana is among the most expensive films of Indian Cinema, and while the business so far is good for the optics, it’s far from where it should have been, so the run from tomorrow will become crucial to hit those results.
