Ramayana Day 2 (Hindi) Box Office Estimate: Ranbir Kapoor and Yash starrer collects Rs. 37 crore on Friday
The Ranbir Kapoor and Yash led Ramayana is showing a decent trend at the box office on its second day. Despite being hit largely by Dhanteras all across the board, the Nitesh Tiwari-directed epic has collected in the range of Rs. 36 crore to Rs. 38 crore on Friday, taking the two-day total collection to Rs 82 crore. For those unaware, Ramayana opened at Rs. 45.46 crore on Thursday, marking the biggest Pre-Diwali opening of all time.
The film is expected to show a surge in business on Saturday, but there will be another dip on Sunday. The 4-day total collection of Ramayana is expected to be around Rs. 164 crore, and this will merely serve as a paid preview, as the real biz begins from Monday, when the Diwali factor plays down and the holiday flavour begins.
The Monday business of Ramayana could be the biggest single day ever in the history of Hindi Cinema, as the reports for the film are unanimously positive, and that will start reflecting in business from Monday. While the first four days of Ramayana are expected to rake in Rs. 165 crore, the next four days could score as high as Rs. 350 crore, taking week one collection alone to Rs. 400 crore plus.
Ramayana is an expensive film, and the stakes are high, but there’s nothing to worry about if the film comes on its own on Monday. The Pre-Diwali factor has taken a hit on the business, but with strong content, the sky’s the limit in the days to come.
