Suniel Shetty shared an emotional birthday message for his daughter, actress Athiya Shetty, on social media. Wishing her on her special day, the actor expressed how, regardless of how much she grows up, he will always see her as the little girl he could never refuse. His heartfelt note also reflected on watching Athiya build a life of her own.
Taking to Instagram, Suniel shared two throwback pictures of Athiya from her childhood. Along with the photographs, he penned a personal message expressing his affection for his daughter and reflecting on how their bond has remained unchanged over the years.
Suniel wrote in his caption, “No matter how old you get, a part of me will always see that little girl I could never say no to. And now watching you build your own little world, I realise some things never change…Happy birthday my baby. Love you more than I could ever put into words. @athiyashetty.”

Athiya is the daughter of Suniel Shetty and his wife, Mana Shetty. The couple, who got married in 1991, also have a son, actor Ahan Shetty. Suniel’s birthday wish highlighted his bond with Athiya as he celebrated another year of her life.
On the professional front, Athiya made her acting debut in 2015 with Hero, directed by Nikkhil Advani. The film was a remake of Subhash Ghai’s 1983 film of the same name, in which she starred opposite Sooraj Pancholi. Two years later, she appeared in Anees Bazmee’s romantic comedy Mubarakan, featuring Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and Ileana D’Cruz.
In 2018, Athiya also featured in the song ‘Tere Naal Nachna’, composed, written and sung by Badshah, with vocals by Sunanda Sharma. The track was part of the film Nawabzaade. In 2019, she starred opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Debamitra Biswal’s comedy-drama Motichoor Chaknachoor, playing Anita “Ani” Awasthi, a young woman who hopes to settle abroad by marrying an NRI.
In her personal life, Athiya married Indian cricketer KL Rahul in January 2023. The couple first met through a mutual friend in January 2019 and dated for several years before tying the knot. Their wedding ceremony was held at Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse in Khandala.
