The appearance of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan on Koffee With Karan Season 9 turned particularly heartwarming when the couple received special video messages from Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan. The festive episode, hosted by Karan Johar, saw Saif’s children from his first marriage to Amrita Singh share affectionate messages for their father and Kareena, offering a glimpse into the family’s close-knit equation.
Ibrahim, in particular, had an emotional message for Saif, acknowledging the various challenges his father has faced over the years and admiring his ability to overcome them. Referring to Saif’s health emergencies, injuries and the recent attack at his Bandra residence, Ibrahim described him as his role model.
Addressing the couple, he said, “Hello Abba and Bebo…. Dad, you’re my role model. My hero. But it’s not who you are but it’s more of what you have been through. High Highs and then the low lows. Heart attack. Thumb injury. Chaaku waaku (knife) and all. And that’s why Dad, you’re my hero. And you always will be. And Bebo, I want you to know you are the coolest stepmother. You’ve always been there. So, I want to thank you. And lots of love to you of course. Who should win the hamper? Dad, I think.”
Sara Ali Khan also sent a warm message, celebrating her father’s personality while expressing her admiration for Kareena’s iconic screen presence. The actress brought up Kareena’s much-loved character Poo from Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham… (2001), revealing just how much the character meant to her growing up. Sara said, “Hello Father, hello Kareena… I hope you guys are having a great episode which I am sure you are. Abba, I think you just personify suave, swag, and coolness. The combination of Kareena Kapoor and Karan Johar is basically my childhood. Poo is my favourite character ever. Can’t wait to watch your episode.”
Earlier in the episode, Saif and Kareena also spoke about the equation Ibrahim shares with his younger half-siblings, Taimur and Jehangir. Kareena revealed that the two boys deeply admire their elder brother and enjoy spending time with him. She said, “Tim and Jeh love Ibrahim. They really look up to him. They love playing with him. He makes such a nice effort.”
Saif agreed, expressing his pride in the way Ibrahim makes an effort to remain involved in his younger siblings’ lives. He said, “He’s amazing with them. Sometimes he comes cover, and he goes to their room and asks them (about their life). Has his own equation with Jeh and is asking him questions about stuff. I noticed that and I just think he is a lovely boy for having that equation.”
The exchange offered a heartwarming glimpse into the family’s dynamic, with Sara and Ibrahim’s affectionate messages highlighting their bond with both Saif and Kareena. Their appearance also underscored the comfortable relationship shared by the siblings across the blended family.
