Inde Navarrette on watching Obsession with her brother: “I got to stare at him”
The uncut, original version of Obsession is now streaming on The Peacock Hub on JioHotstar. The film is available in English and Hindi, with Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon lending their voices to the Hindi version.
Curry Barker’s Obsession has been drawing attention in India following its premiere on The Peacock Hub on JioHotstar last week. The film’s uncut, original version is now available on the platform, while the Hindi version features Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon as the voice artists for Bear and Nikki, respectively. Amid the film’s growing popularity, actor Inde Navarrette recently shared an interesting account of how her brother reacted to her work and expressed his interest in watching the film with her.
In a recent interview, Inde revealed that her brother, who does not usually go to the movies, surprised her by asking if they could watch Obsession together. Recalling his reaction, she said, “He loves me, but he doesn’t necessarily care about a lot of the stuff that I do,” Inde shared in a recent interview. “So whenever he asked, ‘Hey, can we go to the movies and I can bring my friends and we can all go?’ I was like, ‘What the f*ck is happening right now?’”
She further explained that her brother wanted to watch the film when it released in theatres, along with his friends. For Inde, the experience was particularly meaningful as his interest was not simply because she was part of the film, but because he genuinely wanted to watch her work.
“It wasn’t like a ‘this is my sister.’ It was to go watch something that I had done and his friends were also really excited. So I snuck into the theater, glasses and hood up and I got to stare at my brother and having him be like, ‘That was really cool. I’m really proud of you.’ I was like, ‘Whoa,’” she shared.
Meanwhile, Obsession has reportedly grossed over half a billion USD worldwide and received a response from audiences in India as well. The uncut, original version of the film is currently streaming on The Peacock Hub on JioHotstar, giving viewers the option to watch it in its original form.
