DHL Express appoints Sandeep Juneja to lead South Asia and India business
Mumbai: DHL Express has appointed Sandeep Juneja as Senior Vice President for South Asia and Managing Director for India, effective November 1, 2026. He succeeds R. S. Subramanian, who has been appointed Managing Director of Blue Dart.
In his new role, Juneja will focus on strengthening customer partnerships, identifying growth opportunities and driving sustainable business growth across India and South Asia.
Juneja brings more than three decades of professional experience, including over two decades with DHL Express, where he joined in 2004. He has been a member of the India Management Board since 2007 and has held senior leadership positions across sales, marketing and commercial functions. He took charge of the country’s commercial function in 2013, building an understanding of the Indian market and its business growth drivers.
Commenting on the appointment, Ken Lee, CEO for Asia Pacific, DHL Express, said, “India and South Asia are among the most dynamic markets in our region, with significant opportunities for businesses to grow their international footprint and participate in global trade. Capturing that opportunity requires strong market knowledge, close customer relationships and an organization that can translate ambition into sustainable growth. Sandeep brings all three. I look forward to seeing him build on that robust foundation and lead our business into the next phase of growth.”
The appointment comes at a time when South and Central Asia are expected to record the second-fastest trade growth globally between 2026 and 2029, according to the DHL Globalization Tracker. India’s trade agreements with the European Union, the UK, EFTA, New Zealand and Oman are also expected to create opportunities for businesses to diversify trade partnerships and strengthen supply chain resilience.
DHL Express said it would continue to leverage its global network, international expertise and service capabilities to help businesses access these opportunities. Under Juneja’s leadership, the company will focus on strengthening customer relationships, developing its workforce and maintaining service reliability.
In his current role, Juneja has contributed to shaping DHL Express India’s commercial strategy and strengthening its market position. His responsibilities have included customer development, strategic pricing, digitalisation and identifying new growth opportunities, with an emphasis on profitable growth and customer value.
Sandeep Juneja, SVP-designate for South Asia and Managing Director for India, DHL Express, said, “It is a privilege to lead a business I have been part of for more than two decades. With India and Bangladesh among our Group’s high-growth markets, there are significant opportunities for businesses to expand across the region. Building on R S Subramanian’s strong foundation, my focus will be on our customers, our people and delivering sustainable growth and excellent service.”
In addition to India, Juneja will oversee DHL Express operations in Nepal, Bhutan, the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
