Dhurandhar The Revenge’s Rs. 100 crore single-day feat is Ramayana’s FIRST TARGET! Trade predicts EXPLOSIVE collections: “You will see mayhem in cinemas”
Earlier this year, Dhurandhar The Revenge went on a rampage and collected Rs. 100 crore in a day in its opening weekend. We asked trade experts whether Ramayana can also do the same, especially on the post-Diwali holiday, on November 9?

Trade veteran Taran Adarsh said, “You never know. It boils down to the content and how honest they have been to Ramayana and the subject material. So, I hope they live up to those expectations.” Trade analyst Atul Mohan agreed, “If word of mouth clicks, then the sky is the limit. Then anything can happen and any number can be achieved.”
Vishek Chauhan, owner of Roopbani Cinema in Purnia, Bihar, agreed that it’s a possibility, “Breaking Dhurandhar’s record is the first target. But Dhurandhar had great music; in fact, it was the biggest music in recent times. On the plus side, Ramayana’s story is universally palatable, from North to South, East to West. They don’t need to sell it. They just need to make it right. If the word-of-mouth lands and people say ‘Mazaa aa gaya’, you will see mayhem in cinemas. It’ll be pandemonium that you won’t be able to control. Everybody is a target audience, from the age of 8 to 80.”
Distributor and exhibitor Raj Bansal said, “I knew from the start that yeh film kuch kamaal karegi. I was expecting an opening of Rs. 100 crores on day 1 since I assumed that it would release on a day after Diwali, which is a big holiday. Nevertheless, it could still touch Rs. 100 crores on November 9, the day after the festival. This figure won’t be reached on the release day, however.”
He revealed, “I have already started getting calls from people asking for tickets. This shows that people are excited to see it. At the same time, I feel that the promotion is weak. There’s nothing wrong with attempting to capture the Western market. But in the process, they should ignore their home market. The marketing should have been on par with, if not more than, what they did in the West.”
