Devi Sri Prasad records Yellamma title track With 100 folk musicians ahead of March 2027 release
Devi Sri Prasad, popularly known as Rockstar DSP, has recorded the title track for his upcoming film Yellamma with 100 traditional folk rhythm players from different parts of India. The recording brings together percussionists representing diverse cultural traditions, with the song being developed around indigenous instruments and folk rhythms.

The track is expected to be one of the film’s key musical elements, drawing on the sounds associated with village jatharas (carnivals) and deity worship. With the recording session now completed, the makers are preparing to release the single as part of the film’s promotional campaign.
DSP, who has composed music for films including the Pushpa franchise, is also making his acting debut with Yellamma. The project was announced with the unveiling of his first look as Parshi, a rugged character at the centre of the rural drama. The film marks a new on-screen chapter for the composer, who has also been associated with several popular Telugu film soundtracks.
Yellamma is presented by producer Dil Raju and backed by Shirish under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. The film is directed by Venu Yeldandi, who previously helmed Balagam, the rural family drama that received critical recognition and won a National Award.
The collaboration brings together Venu’s storytelling rooted in Telangana’s cultural setting and DSP’s experience with folk-inspired film music. The film is described as a story centred on native traditions, personal faith and grassroots resistance.
Yellamma is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on March 5, 2027. The film is set to release simultaneously in five languages — Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Further details about the title track’s release are expected to be announced by the makers.
