Burger King India’s same-store sales up 14% in Q2 FY27; brand ran Peri-Peri Fest during the quarter
New Delhi: Burger King India recorded 14% same-store sales growth in the July–September 2026 quarter, the period in which the brand ran its Peri-Peri Fest campaign. Restaurant Brands Asia (RBA), which operates Burger King in India and Burger King and Popeyes in Indonesia, announced the numbers on 29 October.
Peri-Peri push
Burger King India launched its limited-period Peri-Peri Fest on 7 July with nine products,
including Peri-Peri versions of the veg and chicken Whopper. The campaign targeted Gen Z and ran nationally across digital, outdoor, social media, influencers, in-store branding and local activations. Customers who bought select Peri-Peri and Sprite combos on the Burger King app were entered into a lucky draw for a trip to Korea.
Agency change
In May 2026, Burger King India moved its creative account to Kinnect after a multi-agency
pitch. The agency handles integrated creative duties for the brand. Kapil Grover is Group Chief Marketing and Digital Officer. RBA has not linked the quarter’s sales growth to any specific campaign.
Revenue and margins in India
Revenue from operations for the India business rose 24.1% year-on-year to Rs 705.6 crore.
Restaurant EBITDA (pre-Ind AS 116) grew 53.7% to Rs 91 crore, with margin improving from 10.4% to 12.9%. The standalone business reported a profit after tax of Rs 15.59 crore, its first time in the black. RBA added 17 restaurants in India during the quarter, taking its count to 607.
At the consolidated level, revenue grew 20.1% to Rs 844.8 crore. Company EBITDA (pre-Ind AS 116) rose 280.7% to Rs 43.2 crore from Rs 11.3 crore a year earlier. RBA runs 766
restaurants across India and Indonesia.
Leadership change
Sumit Zaveri, who has served as Group Chief Financial Officer and Chief Business Officer, will now lead the India business. He will report to Rajeev Varman, Whole-time Director and Group Chief Executive Officer.
“SSSG of 14% coupled with network expansion drove strong revenue growth and profitability enhancement,” Varman said.
Inspira Global completed its acquisition of RBA during the quarter, in July 2026, through
Lenexis Foodworks. The deal, valued at about Rs 2,235 crore, gave Inspira Global a 41.78% stake in the company.
