Bhushan Kumar joins Sandeep Singh as producer in the Rishab Shetty starrer two-part epic The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj
Producer Bhushan Kumar has joined hands with filmmaker Sandeep Singh and actor Rishab Shetty for The Pride of Bharat – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, an ambitious two-part historical epic based on the life and legacy of the Maratha king. T-Series has come on board the project, which is currently in pre-production and is scheduled to go on floors in early 2027.
Marking the collaboration, Bhushan Kumar recently honoured Rishab Shetty with a century-old painting of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The gesture was presented as a reflection of the reverence and responsibility with which the team is approaching the historical subject.
Conceived as a two-part saga, the film will explore defining battles, landmark victories, sacrifices and lesser-known chapters from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s journey. The narrative aims to highlight his military strategies, leadership, political vision and contribution to the idea of Swarajya. The makers are also planning an expansive ensemble cast and a creative team comprising talent from India and overseas.

The project is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series Films and is a T-Series Films and Legend Studios production. It will be directed by Sandeep Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar. Rishi Virmani and Sandeep Singh have written the film, while Rishab Shetty, Shiv Chanana and Kabiir Sadanand are attached as co-producers.
With pre-production underway, the makers are preparing for filming to commence in early 2027. Further details about the ensemble cast and other aspects of the two-part historical epic are awaited.
