Palash Sen claims Salman Khan was “part of the problem” after he called out paid PR on Bigg Boss 20: “I am not pointing a finger at anyone, but…”
Singer, songwriter and actor Palash Sen has reacted to Salman Khan’s recent comments on trolling and alleged paid negative PR campaigns in the Hindi film industry. While acknowledging that Salman was “very, very brave” to speak about the issue, Palash alleged that the actor himself had been part of the culture he was criticising.

During a recent Bigg Boss 20 Weekend Ka Vaar episode, Salman addressed the way actors are targeted online when their films do not perform at the box office. He also spoke about allegations that some members of the film industry use paid negative campaigns against fellow actors.
Salman’s comments came while discussing the wider culture of trolling and online criticism. He also defended Katrina Kaif against social media comments about her weight following the birth of her child, questioning the tendency to scrutinise actors over their appearance and personal lives.
Reacting to Salman’s remarks in an interview with Screen, Palash questioned the actor’s position on paid PR and alleged that the practice has been part of the industry for years.
“He’s a part of starting this. Let’s not forget that. Problems never arise from the bottom of the hierarchy; it starts from the top. I am not pointing a finger at anyone, but if you live by the sword, you are also going to get killed by the sword. Everybody in the film industry who has maintained their position for many, many years, obviously has played with the PR guys; we all know it,” Palash said.
Palash Sen questions Salman Khan’s comments
Palash went on to acknowledge the significance of Salman speaking publicly about paid negative campaigns, while questioning whether the actor’s remarks could be viewed separately from the industry practices he alleged Salman had previously been associated with. “One day, you can start saying things and sound like a saint. Though it was very, very brave of him to say what he did. I am telling you he was part of the problem. We all know it,” he said.
Palash also questioned the setting in which Salman made the comments. Since the discussion took place on Bigg Boss 20, he wondered whether the conversation was entirely spontaneous or had been planned as part of the show. “Even the fact that he did this on this show (Bigg Boss 20)…100 per cent, we don’t know whether this was scripted or it was really organic. It has become so difficult for all of us to figure out,” Palash added.
