Ravi Kishan recalls humble beginnings as he plays Lord Ram in Ayodhya Ki Ramleela: “I have previously played Parshuram, Kevat and Mata Sita”
BJP MP and actor Ravi Kishan portrayed Lord Ram at Ayodhya Ki Ramleela in New Delhi on October 19. For the actor-politician, the performance marked a new milestone in his association with Ramleela, as he portrayed Lord Ram for the first time after previously playing characters including Parshuram and Kevat.
Kishan said he hopes to approach the role with sincerity and seek Lord Ram’s blessings as he takes on the character. “Today, by Lord Ram’s grace, I am playing him in a Ramleela for the first time. I have previously played Parshuram, Kevat and Mata Sita when I was a child, and I hope to do justice to this role with his blessings,” he said.
Ravi Kishan urges youth to explore spirituality
The actor and parliamentarian also spoke about the role spirituality can play while dealing with difficult phases of life. Addressing the youth, he said, “I urge the youth to read about Lord Ram, Lord Krishna and Lord Shiva. Whenever you face depression or difficulties in life, spirituality helps us overcome them.”
He also recommended making meditation part of one’s daily routine. “I urge everyone to devote at least half an hour daily to meditation. Spirituality, Sanatan traditions, culture and religion give us the strength to overcome difficulties,” he added.
Kishan connected the advice to his own journey, recalling his humble beginnings and the recognition he has achieved through both cinema and politics. “I come from a humble background, and today the world knows me through cinema and as the MP from Gorakhpur,” he said.
