Talking about how education has influenced her life, Sandeepa said, “I think a lot of who I am today is thanks to education. My parents always made sure I received a good education. Even when I wanted to become an actor, they told me to complete my master’s degree first and then pursue whatever I wanted to do. I think that’s a very typical parental response!”

The actress also acknowledged the role her teachers and academic institutions played in shaping her perspective and personality. Recalling her time at St. Xavier’s and Jamnalal Bajaj, she spoke about the opportunity to learn from talented professors and interact with educated minds. According to Sandeepa, these experiences left a lasting impression on her and contributed to her personal growth.

Meanwhile, the actress has been receiving a positive response for her performance as Kiran Kejriwal in Chumbak. Having previously taken on emotionally intense roles, Sandeepa said the appreciation for her comic performance came as a pleasant surprise.

“I’ve done emotionally intense roles in the past, and people have given so much love to Chumbak and my character, Kiran Kejriwal. I don’t know whether the surname had something to do with it, or whether it was the character itself! It’s always wonderful when something you’ve put so much effort into works out,” she said.

Sandeepa revealed that she had initially wondered why she was being considered for a comedy, given that she had not explored the genre before. However, Aatish Kapadia and JD recognised her potential and trusted her to portray Kiran. The actress expressed gratitude for their confidence in her and the audience’s response to the series. She also shared her happiness at seeing memes and discussions about the show circulating online.

For Sandeepa, the appreciation for Chumbak has made the experience particularly rewarding. The response has also highlighted the value of stepping beyond familiar roles and exploring different aspects of her craft.
