Peddi World Television Premiere: Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s sports-sction drama to air on Sony MAX on October 24
Sony MAX is set to premiere Peddi on television on October 24 at 8 PM. Starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, the sports-action drama combines action and emotion with a story centred on courage, identity and community pride.
Set in 1990 in a remote village in Andhra Pradesh, the film follows Peddi, played by Ram Charan, a gifted sportsman known for his natural talent and passion for the game. However, when circumstances threaten his community and its way of life, the game takes on a deeper meaning. What begins as a sporting pursuit gradually turns into a fight for his people, their identity and their dignity.
Blending sports, action and drama, the film follows a man determined to stand up for his community. With its large-scale action sequences and emotional storyline, Peddi brings together elements of a sports drama and a mass entertainer. The film also features Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu and Divyenndu in key roles, while the music has been composed by A.R. Rahman.

Ram Charan also spoke about what drew him to the project and his response to the script. The actor said, “Anybody says yes to a film because of the script, and Peddi had a fantastic one. When I first heard it at home, I had a reaction unlike anything I’ve experienced before. I immediately hugged my director, Buchi Babu and even Sukumar sir was surprised. I feel very fortunate to be part of Peddi. As an actor, I’ve always wanted to be associated with films that inspire people across generations and when I heard the script I felt Peddi was one such film.”
With Ram Charan leading the cast alongside Janhvi Kapoor, Peddi is set to reach television audiences with its story of sports, determination and collective pride. The World Television Premiere of Peddi will air on Sony MAX on October 24 at 8 PM.
