BENGALURU: Khadim Batti, cofounder and chief executive of enterprise software company Whatfix, died on Tuesday following a cardiac arrest. He was 51.Batti co-founded Whatfix with his longtime colleague Vara Kumar Namburu in Bengaluru in 2014. He led its growth into one of India’s prominent enterprise software-as-a-service companies, serving large businesses worldwide.Whatfix makes digital adoption software. Its technology sits on top of workplace applications and provides employees with on-screen guidance, training and analytics as they complete tasks. Batti had described the core product as “a GPS for software.”Batti and Kumar first worked together at Huawei, where they spent nearly a decade building large-scale technology products. They left the company around 2010 to start an enterprise focused on search engine optimisation for small businesses. A feature designed to guide users through that product eventually became the foundation for Whatfix.Under Batti’s leadership, Whatfix expanded across India, the US, Europe, Singapore and Australia. Its $125-million in 2024, led by Warburg Pincus with participation from SoftBank Vision Fund 2, valued the company at around $900 million. By November 2025, Whatfix had more than 900 employees.Batti was also closely involved with India’s SaaS and AI founder communities. He served on the governing council of SaaSBoomi and was among the founding members of AIBoomi, a community focused on AI-first products built from India. He was also an angel investor and mentor to several founders.Avinash Raghava, CEO and founding volunteer at SaaSBoomi, said Batti’s journey with Whatfix had inspired many entrepreneurs. “A wonderful friend. A generous mentor.
