Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams emphasises inter-departmental coordination for successful Brahmotsavams

With the annual Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavams scheduled to be held in Tirumala from September 15 to 23, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Additional Executive Officer (AEO) Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary on Thursday directed all departments to work in close coordination to ensure smooth and successful conduct of the nine-day religious festival, which is expected to draw a massive pilgrim turnout.

Chairing a comprehensive review meeting at the Sudharma Conference Hall in the Padmavathi Guest House at Tirumala, the AEEO along with TTD Joint Executive Officer Dr A. Sarath, Chief Vigilance and Security Officer Muralikrishna and Tirupati District Superintendent of Police Subbarayudu, reviewed the preparedness of various departments and assessed arrangements for the annual festival.

Emphasising the need for meticulous planning, Chowdary instructed officials to augment APSRTC bus services in line with the anticipated surge in pilgrim traffic. He also called for a dedicated parking management plan, including advance allocation of parking spaces, to prevent congestion and ensure smooth vehicular movement.

He further directed officials to undertake large-scale distribution of child identification tags to prevent children from going missing during the festivities. Stressing public safety, he instructed departments to maintain constant vigilance over electrical cables and temporary power installations to eliminate the risk of accidents and ordered the completion of all fire safety measures well in advance.

Special focus, he said, should be placed on Garuda Vahana Seva and Chakrasnanam, when pilgrim turnout is expected to peak, with comprehensive arrangements made to ensure devotees do not face inconvenience.

TTD Tirupati JEO Dr A. Sarath said a separate review meeting was held with officials to oversee arrangements in Tirupati and added that cultural troupes from 25 States, besides groups from Singapore and Germany, would participate in the Brahmotsavam celebrations.

During the meeting, the Chief Vigilance and Security Officer and the Tirupati District Superintendent of Police made a PowerPoint presentation outlining the security measures planned for the festival.

TTD In-charge Chief Engineer Manoharam, Deputy Executive Officers Rajendra and Bhaskar, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Kusuma Kumari, DFO Phani Kumar Naidu, Tirumala ASP Ramakrishna, VGO Surendra and other officials attended the review meeting.
