Government orders disciplinary action against two revenue officials
The government on Friday (12 September, 2025) ordered disciplinary action against two revenue officials following the directions of the Institution of Lokayukta, Andhra Pradesh, presided over by Upa Lokayukta P. Rajani.
Complaintant V. Muralidhar Reddy of Kurnool district had alleged that two government officials T. Anjana Devi, the then Tahsildar of Kallur, and K.L. Vara Prasada Rao, Village Revenue Officer of Lakshmipuram Village in Kallur Mandal, had illegally issued bogus house site pattas in Dupadu village to certain beneficiaries by accepting a bribe of ₹4 lakh.
The chief commissioner of land administration and special chief secretary had then conducted a detailed enquiry through the Joint Collector, Kurnool, following the Institution’s directions. After the due procedure, the authorities initiated disciplinary proceedings against the officers.
Accordingly, Anjana Devi would face a reduction to a lower stage in the time scale of pay for a period not exceeding one year, without cumulative effect and not adversely affecting her pension. Varaprasada Rao’s two increments will be withheld without cumulative effect. In view of the disciplinary action taken by the government, the Upa Lokayukta ordered closure of the case.
