Fatima Sana Shaikh expressed her happiness as Sam Bahadur won three honours at the 71st National Film Awards. The film received recognition for Best Feature Film on National, Social and Environmental Values, Best Makeup, and Best Costume Design. Congratulating the team, Fatima shared her gratitude for being part of the project.

Fatima said, “Huge congratulations to the team of Sam Bahadur for bagging three incredible National Film Awards!! It’s truly a moment of honour. I feel glad to be a part of the film and play the role of Smt. Indira Gandhi. Working with our director, Meghna Gulzar, was a dream and it was truly a one-of-kind experience for me.”

Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Sam Bahadur revolves around the journey of India’s first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw, wherein Fatima Sana Shaikh adds weight to the plot by portraying the role of Smt. Indira Gandhi.

From carrying the grit to exuding serious intensity, Fatima pulled off the role with believability, making it seem incredibly real. She even received immense appreciation and praise from the audiences and critics, which highlighted her range as an actress and shed light on her versatility.
